And the Peated Whisky trial batch is in the bottle. Lots of sweet caramel flavors with a smoky after taste. Now off to the official tasters.
Must be the weekend. Spirit run time for Manuka Smoked Bourbon. 2 5l of Manuka Smoked Mash. 375ml of White Dog plus 2l of Corn Whisky faints and 3l distilled water. Let's go.
64%. Hoped for better.
First Manuka Smoked Bourbon trial. About 20 litres racked off from the fermented wash.
Reverse chilling down to 25c so I can pitch Whisky yeast. Had to use paddle to get sparge through so a bit marker I think.
Manuka Smoked Bourbon ready to sparge. 3.14kg Flaked Maize, Rye Malt 1kg and 1 kg Manuka Smoked Barley malt. Mashed for @ 70 mins at 65c.
3l at 45% abv on American Oak and one 500ml on American Oak Spiral that had previously been in Manuka Whisky
